Synopsis

Fifteen animal-themed sad, poetic, and abstract quotes about honeybees, birds, cats, and more to read—the animal kingdom is sometimes naturally scary. Regrettably, humans add in scare that is not scarce.

We are honeybees who stung banes on each other’s wings ‘til we
dropped in starved bear dens.

We are street-raised groenendaels who drink the rain. A shelter finds us and takes us in. But we’re refused by most owners ‘cause black fur’s seen as jinxed.

My aunt’s a tigress who clawed her cubs’ furs until sphynxes saved them to nurse as their own.

My uncle’s a squirrel whose tree hollow says, “See your family in spring…but don’t in winter.”

She are south black widows whose web said, “No love, just coins” and ate his heart up.

We’re birds tweeting gibes within our wedlock in lieu of chirping to our nestlings.

I’m ravens. Folklore inked to me and said, “Only swart quills commit sins.” Yet, I’ve seen doves lam angels.
